It has been five years since top Bush administration officials successfully pushed the country into war. Dedicated to the prospect of remaking the Middle East and protecting Israel, these neo-conservative thinkers hatched a plot to invade Iraq, regardless of whom or what.
Now 4,000 American soldiers are dead, billions of dollars have been spent, the economy is floundering and the hapless Democrats can’t stop a war, won’t stop a war, that the vast majority of Americans don’t want to fight anymore.
America is in peril. But the danger does not come from al-Qaeda, terror cells lurking behind closed doors or plots hatched by extremists chatting over the internet. The nation is in peril because of blind and arrogant leadership and a refusal to change an errant course.
When President Bush recently spoke at the Pentagon to mark the war’s anniversary, his speech painted a picture of progress and outlined reasons why America must stay the course. But he could give few answers, if any, about how long the military debacle should continue. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, has said America should stay in Iraq for 100 years, and assert her national interest by continuing to occupy the country.
Iraq is simply a mess and not lagging far behind are Afghanistan and Pakistan, with a war hungry administration engaged in saber rattling with Iran. Could this have been avoided? Was there another way? Were other options available? Yes. Yes. And, yes.
It took 935 lies in the run up to the war, false testimony at the United Nations, twisted U.S. intelligence and wrenching the emotions of a grieving nation to put U.S. soldiers in a fight that they cannot win. Despite President Bush’s “rah-rah” speeches about the bravery and “can-do” dedication of servicemen, America cannot win in Iraq. Over 600,000 Iraqis are already dead and over $600 billion has already been spent on the war. But the carnage continues and American deaths mount from firefights, accidents, bombs, and suicides. Americans don’t want to stay in Iraq as badly as Iraqis want the U.S. forces to leave and mounting anger over what many see as the humiliation and degradation of an Islamic nation is inspiring others to take up arms against the Americans, whether in Iraq, Afghanistan or Pakistan.
America cannot win because God Himself has decreed that her days of winning wars are over. She has been warned for over five years by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan that she must change course in order to survive. Before the war started, Min. Farrakhan urged Mr. Bush to reconsider and change his “let’s go to war” mentality. The Minister has repeated the warning of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad that America’s power in the world would be broken through war, the fall of the dollar and the loss of friendship. He has consistently warned America that she cannot stay in power with military might alone, and that repentance and a turn to righteousness are the pathway to healing and success.
The president and his advisors have not listened and like the Pharaohs of Egypt and the Caesars of Rome, America blindly wanders on. Like a hungry beast, she lusts for the oil of Iraq and desires to maintain her position as the last remaining superpower. She doesn’t desire to be right. She doesn’t desire to tell the truth. She doesn’t desire to admit the truth. Therefore, she is doomed.
In “The Fall of America,” Chapter 27, The Troubled America: No Peace, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad wrote:
America, in trying to hold her place as the greatest power among the nations of earth, is one of the most troubled countries on earth today.
The world has never before seen the top rulers of the land leaving their offices to visit nations abroad. The purpose of these visits to foreign countries is to make peace with them after years of troubling them.
America brought all of her troubles upon herself. She alone is to be charged with being the cause of the troubled world and people today.
America loves meddling into other people’s affairs. She just cannot stay out of other people’s business, whether they be a two-cents worth soap-box teacher or presidents and kings of countries.
America’s actions fit the description of the prophecy (Bible) “The beast has eyes around about.” This refers to the mechanical listening devices with which America listens in on other people’s private affairs, as well as her listening in on foreign governmental affairs. This also refers to her powerful telescope.
America goes abroad and makes war against other people. Then she charges them with making war against her when she is the one who is guilty of the war-making.
The Bible says Allah (God) will destroy those who delight themselves in making war.
Min. Farrakhan has echoed his teacher’s words of warning and caution, offering right guidance for America, if she would just listen. “There are times in history when men of conviction go against the tide of world thought and opinion, bringing suffering upon themselves to establish a new truth or a new idea. However, this is not that time for you. In my judgment, this is a time when the President of the United States must not only listen to his advisors and study their agendas, but, he must listen to world opinion. If the President of the United States seems to show no respect for world opinion or for the thoughts of the members of the Security Council of the United Nations, then, your actions will turn the nations of the world against you and against America,” the Minister wrote in an October 2002 letter to President Bush.
“Ancient Babylon was a city that caused all who traded with her to wax strong, but, at a certain point, the neighboring nations turned against Babylon and she was destroyed and left as a sign. The Book of Revelation speaks of a mystery Babylon that ancient Babylon was a sign of. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, my teacher and guide, said that America is the fulfillment of that mystery Babylon,” Min. Farrakhan added.
Ancient Babylon was destroyed because of her wickedness and refusal to submit to the Lord of the Worlds. America is in the same position today. War without end cannot save her. Atomic weapons cannot protect her. Armaments cannot preserve her.
If she would heed divine warning and guidance, and turn from her wicked ways, God might just save her.
